Dow plummets 504 points – Mike Matusow Rejoices
For those truly degenerate gamblers like Mike Matusow who will bet on anything, the dump that the stock market took today was reason to celebrate. Mike’s escapades in the Full Tilt Poker chat window are well documented. He’s begged for money, trash-talked daily, and even saved a guys life.
Our team of ex-FBI agents has now uncovered what may be the most controversial Matusow chat ever. Recently, in a chat exchange with now disgraced multi-accounter Brian Townsend Mike made a prop bet. A prop bet even more outrageous than the “100K weight loss bet” at this years WSOP. The story unfolded as follows.
Mike had just went broke as usual in the 200/400 PLO game at Full Tilt and was on the rail begging for money. Brian, who was actually using his real “Red Pro” screen name at the time, was Mike’s target. After about 30 minutes of Mike’s banter Brian finally replied back saying:
Townsend: ok mike, i’m not gonna ship any cash tonight cause i’m stuck 800K and im about to hav eto starting griding it out under an assumed name to build my bankroll back
Townsend: prob will use some stupid ass name like stellarnebula cause no body will ever trace that back to me
Townsend: how about a prop bet? 200K says the market rebounds tomorrow since hurricane ike blew over with no real damage to the oil rigs
Matusow: i don’t know shit about the stock market but i bet it takes a dump tomorrow when the opning bell rings
Matusow: over under on the market dropping at least 500 points, i’ll take the over but only if you up the bet to 300k. I owe like 17 people
Matusow: even my mom….sehs’s pissed
Townsend: it’s a bet
While it’s largely beleived that Mike is a moron when it comes to market matters, it’s clear he saw the storm that was coming as a result of the sub-prime fallout. With two cornerstones of the banking world taking shits today (Lehman Brothers and Merril Lynch) Mike knew his train was coming. And it was packed full with 300 G’s of Brian Townsends money.
Since Townsend is banned from Full Tilt for many more months the exchange is reportedly set to take place in person tomorrow at an undisclosed location. In the meantime, we’re taking the under on how long it takes Mike to donk off this latest round of cash at Full Tilt Poker (24 hours?).
